A New Deal for Young People: partnerships
Opportunities for young Londoners are needed now more than ever. As young people face the rising cost of living in London and the uncertainties that come with this, support from a trusted relationship is critical.
We know the difference a mentor can make to a young person, and that’s why, through the New Deal for Young People, we’ve so far invested over £34m in making sure that all young Londoners who need it, can benefit from the life-changing impact of mentoring.
To date, over 70,000 disadvantaged young people have accessed a mentor, and we’re working closely with London Boroughs, schools, community groups, other funders, businesses and anchor organisations to give even more young Londoners a helping hand to reach their full potential.
Propel
The Mayor has been working in partnership with key funders and equity groups across London, facilitated by London Funders, to develop a collaborative fund offering grants to London’s civil society groups.
This new initiative – called Propel – is about giving the capital’s civil society and communities the flexibility, trust and capacity to make long-term, systemic change in London.
