Programme: Pocket Parks

Sitting next to National Trust’s Sutton House, this former breaker’s yard had been an overgrown and contaminated site. As such, it had attracted anti-social behaviour, like theft and vandalism. Thanks to funding, the yard has turned into an attractive Pocket Park.

A landscaped wonderland full of colour, play and imagination, it is home to Daniel Lobb’s double-decker caravan and a solarium ice-cream van designed by Rose Blake.

There are also water features, giant tractor sandpits and plants. Growing beds of fruit and veg offer people other ways to get involved in the park.
