Accessibility statement for Healthy Early Years London

This site has been built to be as accessible as possible and tested against WCAG 2.1 AA. There are some areas which are not yet fully accessible:

• The date calendar selector on the physical activity statement and the Gold Award application is not fully selectable using the keyboard only.
• On the Gold Award application form, it is not obvious enough how to use the promotion / demotion (table drag handle) button link. Instructions have been added, but we want to improve the feature.
• Text alternatives for images not always available
• Text that appears within the accordion is not coded as an ordered list
• The tabledrag-handle button link appears on screen in the layout of the table but needs to be coded differently for a keyboard user
• The combobox in the Case studies section is coded incorrectly
• When pages are resized to 1280 CSS pixels wide and to 400% zoom loss of information occurs on the screen
• The feedback link on the right hand side becomes cropped with the text not appearing entirely
• Multi-select dropdown is not keyboard selectable
• Missing a skip to main content link that for keyboard users
• Skip to main content link in the create a setting and search for a setting modal window which shouldn't be there and going to the incorrect place on the feedback page
• Various accessibility errors with the code
• Instructions missing to tell users how to use the reCAPTCHA form element
• The tabledrag-handle button link does not have an accessible name associated to it
• The input box on the borough Lead contacts page does not have an accessible name associated to it

The previous link, month drop down, year drop down, next link, and dates of the month should all be selectable using the keyboard.
• On the Gold Award application form, it is not obvious enough how to use the promotion / demotion (table drag handle) button link (WCAG 2.1 AA criterion 3.3.2 - labels or instructions). Instructions have been added but the feature still needs to be improved.
• Text alternatives for images not always available (WCAG 2.1 AA criterion 1.1.1 - Non-text Content)
• Text that appears within the accordion is not coded as an ordered list (WCAG 2.1 AA criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships)
• The tabledrag-handle button link appears on screen in the layout of the table but needs to be coded differently for a keyboard user (WCAG 2.1 AA criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships)

This website has been audited to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA. A sample of pages was tested which reflected all the key user journeys for the Healthy Early Years target users. It was last retested and updated in March 2020.

All accessibility testing was done by Test Partners.
