We have recently published two evaluation and research reports which look at the London Regeneration Fund (LRF) and the Good Growth Fund (GGF) programmes.

Each report details bespoke research and evaluation activities undertaken to help further understand the wider impact of the programmes, alongside case studies which you can delve into to learn about individual projects.

London Regeneration Fund

The London Economic Actions Partnership's (LEAP) London Regeneration Fund used the Government’s Growth Deal 2 allocation of £20m capital funding to deliver jobs and growth through a competitive programme to encourage London’s high streets and places of work to become more thriving and diverse, commencing delivery in April 2016.

Work in action

We’ve also produced two short films showcasing two projects funded through the London Regeneration Fund.

Poplar Works

Poplar Works (previously ‘Fashioning Poplar’) is a £5.5m project, part-funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP), led by Poplar HARCA together with London College of Fashion, UAL and workspace provider The Trampery. It provides a distinctive space in the heart of the Poplar community, aiming to nurture undiscovered talent and potential and create new possibilities for future generations.

Thamesmead’s Lakeside Centre

The refurbishment and fit-out of the building was supported with £1million in regeneration funding from the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) and delivered in partnership with Peabody, Bow Arts and YMCA. The project has created 35 affordable creative workspaces, two residency studios, a community darkroom and community garden, an early years nursery and a community café. The site will also offer a wider programme of events, school programmes and public art, contributing to the regeneration within the Thamesmead and Abbey Wood Opportunity Area.

Good Growth Fund

Launches in 2017, the Good Growth Fund is the Mayor's £70 million regeneration programme to support growth and community development in London. three strategic themes are:

  • Empowering People – make London fair and inclusive by strengthening its civic infrastructure and networks, which will bring people together to share their cultures and collaborate. As a result of the Fund, the GLA hopes all Londoners are equipped to participate in the job market.
  • Making Better Places –. make better use of London’s existing spaces, providing inclusive and healthy places to work and live. There is a specific focus on bringing back empty spaces, improving the usability of public realm and providing accessible and adaptable infrastructure.
  • Growing Prosperity – support diverse and accessible local economies and help them realise their full potential. The GLA want to see innovative projects that use targeted interventions to support specific industries and local economies.
