Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills, Jules Pipe attended the opening of the ‘Bee Kind Garden’ project in Battersea.
The ‘Bee Kind Garden’ was awarded £30,000 funding through the Mayor's Crowdfund London programme. It's delivered by Christ Church CE Primary Battersea with volunteer support from Cleve West, an award-winning garden designer.
The ‘Bee Kind Garden’ is a new community space that creates opportunities for the local community to get involved in a range of outdoor activities such as planting, growing, cooking and learning. Through transforming a disused piece of land into a community garden for the local area, the project tackles a broad range of topics, such as social isolation, mental health issues and access to local sustainable fruit and vegetables.

The new round of Crowdfund London launched in September 2019 and the best community-led projects could get a pledge of up to £50,000 from the Mayor.
